Ribes californicum hillside gooseberry

Native to the area including Jasper Ridge, this early blooming gooseberry has greenish-white, pendent flowers, not as conspicuous as the red-blooming R. speciosum or rose-pink R. sanguineum. There has been for many years a large, healthy bush to 8 feet high and wide adjacent to the Dish loop trail, 160 yards southwest of the turnoff to the Dish.
