See five in the pinetum on Serra Mall at Landau Economics with P. muricata and P. canariensis. There are three stiff, pungent, dark green needles up to 4 inches long with a turpentine odor when crushed, and 3-inch-long cones.
Name derivation: Pinus – the Latin name; bungeana – after Alexander von Bunge (1803–1890), Russian botanist who collected the type specimen.
