SCROPHULARIACEAE (Snapdragon family).
Shrub, dense, mounding to 3 or 4-foot high; opposite leaves, square stems, and showy, tubular, curved-from-the-base red flowers with four exerted stamens and style. A few plants can be seen on the east side of Campus Drive West, between Searsville Rd. and Stock Farm. Look nearby for Cape mallow.
