Shrub, clipped as hedge, on south side of Braun Music and in Outer Quad NW courtyards (see South of Quad tree map). The distinctive, wavy-margined leaves are silvery beneath, dotted with brown scales.

Name derivation: Elaeagnus – from the Greek elais, olive, and agnos, the chaste-tree; pungens – spiny, sharp-pointed. From California Plant Names.
