Old, tall examples of the bluish-gray variety of this hybrid juniper abound in the residential parts of campus. When pruned to showcase their handsome trunks, they form picturesque small trees, as at 836 Mayfield Avenue on either side of the front steps. Thomas Church specified several around campus, including in White Plaza. Other smaller, more green-leaved varieties are extensively planted on either side of the back of Memorial Church.
