Quercus frainetto
Hungarian oak
Southeastern Europe to Turkey
An impressive tree of stately mien. The rich green leaves are about 3-7 inches long and deeply lobed, with a characteristic fringe of three small lobes at the tip. One is at 700 Welch Road (the Stanford Barn) on the left near the curb. Others are scattered along the front of 3223 Hanover Street in the Stanford Research Park.
