This dense, mounding shrub gets to 3 or 4 feet high. Leaves are opposite, stems square. Showy, tubular, curved-from-the-base red flowers have four exserted stamens and style. A few plants can be seen on the east side of Campus Drive West, between Searsville Road and Stock Farm. Look nearby for Cape mallow.
