Cupressus torulosa Himalayan cypress

Cupressus torulosa. Irene Beardsley, 20 Mar 2003

There is a handsome specimen on the west side of the Arizona Cactus Garden and another in the row of mourning (or funereal) cypresses on the opposite side. The tree resembles the mourning cypress in having drooping branches and very small cones, but the sprays are not flattened and the terminal branchlets are arranged differently.
