Arctostaphaylos 'Pacific Mist' ? Exstensively-planted prostrate form on Palm Drive, after curbing project, and other locs.
• Calycanthus floridus. Calycanthaceae. Lvs opposite, entire, secondary veins ascending; tomentose back of lvs and on branchlets. Two bushes in Old Union courtyard, south side. Late-June blooming.
Carissa grandiflora. Apocynaceae. Between Keck Science and Organic Chemistry bldgs. Fragrant white bloon, June-July, bifurcate thorns. Also plantings at Rains and Manzanita Park.
Carpentaria californica. Philadelphaceae. NE back of Cantor Center, N side Roble field, early spring bloom white flrs to 2.5 inches wide. Saratoga Hort Plant Culture Data Sheets.
Cornus capitata. N side of restrooms W of Oregon Garden with Euonymous japonica and Philadelphus pubescens.
Cotinus coggygria (green and purple-leaved forms together) on Escondido Rd. opposite Rains in rough hedge with Feijoa sellowiana and Photinia x fraseri. Very nice effect; Cotinus blooming June. [image1 | image2 | image3] Small tree-form in other locations.
Escallonia grahamiana. Campus Drive side of Cogen. Blooms late June. White flrs.
Euonymous japonica. Oleacea. Either side of path from Mausoleum lawn to Arizona Garden Entrance, near the Buxus hedge. Extensive planting along Oval-Lomita Drive N. cut-off path. One bush near Philadelphus near Oregon courtyard.
Elaeagnus pungens. Elaeagnaceae. Clipped as hedge S side of Braun Music and in Outer Quad NW courtyards.
Fremontedendron californicum. Sterculiaceae. Junipero Serra Blvd near bridge @ Alpine Rd., intersection of Santa Teresa and Los Arboles Ave, growing with Carpentaria.
Jasminum mesnyi. Oleaceae. Yellow flrs, long blooming February on. Mausoleum area, opposite entrance to AG and opposite front lawn of Mausoleum near Viburnum tinus.
Ligustrum ovalifolium. Oleaceae. Few feet south of the Cupressus funebris off sidewalk W side of Palm Drive, S intersection with Arboretum. Blooms mid to late-June.

Malva sp. Malvaceae. Long-blooming, pink-flowered Mallow with purple veination in front of Green Library West Wing. About 5 feet high.
Nicotiana glauca. Long-established, yellow-flowered tobacco, naturalized, Sand Hill Road Greenbelt in San Franciquito Creek.
Osmanthus ilicifolious. Oleaceae. Lvs glossy, spinose, opposite. Escondido Mall, upper path against buildings.
Philadelphus pubescens. Philadelphaceae. Fragrant white flr, June blooming, N side of restrooms W of Oregon Garden, with Cornus capitata and Euonymous japonica.
Rhamnus alaternus. Rhamnaceae. Rather common around campus, hedgerow planting at Cantor Center (see Cantor tree map) appears to be doing poorly. Forms fruit (berries) June-July.

Buxus sempervirens. Buxaceae. Two varieties of tall-shrub form. Entrance of Art Gallery. Tree form and short hedge together in Toyen Hall courtyard. April-May blooming.
Feijoa sellowiana. Myrtaceae. [Flr] Fine tree forms noted under species entry in book. Mixed-hedge form with Cotinus (green and purple-leaved forms) on Escondido Rd. opposite Rains.
Myrtus communis. Myrtaceae. Beautiful tree form. See species entry in book.
Xylosma congestum. Nice tree forms Wilbur Hall. See Wilbur Hall tree map.
